The solar cell is a semiconductor device that converts the quantum flux of photons into electrical current. This commonly referred to as the “photovoltaic effect”.

The solar cells are assembled in solar modules that are subsequently mounted on supports. The types of support utilised depend on the location and may be fixed (with dual positions), single or double axis tracking.
